Instructions for Authors

GIW 2004 The Fifteenth International Conference on Genome Informatics

Please follow the instructions below when preparing your manuscript. The manuscript that violates the instructions and Important Notices will not be handled property. If you have any difficulties to follow the instructions, please write an email to the contact address below.


Full Paper

Accepted papers will be published in Genome Informatics Vol.15, No.2 which is MEDLINE indexed.

  1. Submission
    We recommend to prepare your manuscript around 10 pages by following the instructions for Final Version, and to send ONLY PS file or PDF file or Text file to giw-sub@ims.u-tokyo.ac.jp by August 23, 2004 August 31, 2004

  2. Notification of acceptance/rejection: October 1, 2004

  3. Final Version
    Page limit is 10.
    We cordially ask that you use either Full Paper LaTeX2e template or Full Paper MS Word template, and send BOTH 1 and 2 below to giw-sub@ims.u-tokyo.ac.jp by October 30, 2004.

    1. All source file(s) for your final version
      • LaTeX2e file(s) that you have written with Full Paper LaTeX2e template (Do not forget to send a bib file or a bbl file and eps files (for figures) and any macros that you have created, if any), or
      • MS Word file that you have written with Full Paper MS Word template.

Poster/Software Demonstration Abstract

The abstracts will be compiled as "The Fifteenth International Conference on Genomic Informatics, Poster and Software Demonstrations".

  1. Submission
    The number of pages is exactly TWO (not less than and not more than).
    We cordially ask that you use either Poster/Demo Abstract LaTeX2e template or Poster/Demo Abstract MS Word template, and send BOTH 1 and 2 below to giw-sub@ims.u-tokyo.ac.jp by October 10, 2004.

    1. All source file(s) for your paper:
      • LaTeX2e file(s) that you have written with Poster/Demo Abstracts LaTeX2e template (Do not forget to send a bib file or a bbl file and eps files (for figures) and any macros that you have created, if any), or
      • MS Word file that you have written with Poster/Demo Paper MS Word template.
    2. PS file or PDF file

  2. Revision and Final Version
    Submitted poster/demo abstracts will be reviewed for appropriateness to GIW 2004. Necessary revisions shall be asked to the author(s) as a condition for acceptance.

Important Notices

  1. Page limit is 10 for full paper and 2 for poster/demo abstract. In case the number of pages still exceeds this limit after your efforts, please contact the Editor-in-Chief (Satoru Miyano: giw2004@ims.u-tokyo.ac.jp) for advice.
  2. Do not change the text width, text height, baseline, font size, etc., specified in LaTeX2e/LaTeX/MS Word templates.
  3. Reference style and citation should strictly follow the templates.
  4. Please use spell checker program and grammar checker program for improving your final version.
  5. Printed version of "Genome Informatics Vol.15, No2" is monochromatic and has a page limit. But, electronic version (PDF, then HTML, XML) does not have such restrictions. Therefore, we encourage the author(s) to attach any hypermedia files which can be included in your paper. The electronic version will be open to public at JSBi Home Page (http://www.jsbi.org/journal.html).
