Instructions for Authors
GIW 2003 The Fourteenth International Conference on Genome Informatics
``Genome Informatics 2003'' will be published
as Genome Informatics vol.14, which is MEDLINE indexed (accepted full papers only).
Accepted full papers will be included in
``Genome Informatics 2003''.
Please follow the instructions below when preparing your paper. The
manuscript that violates the instructions and Important Notices will not be included in the
book. If you have any difficulties to follow the instructions, please
write an email to the contact address below.
Full Paper
- Submission
We recommend to prepare your manuscript around 10 pages by following the instructions
for Final Version, and to send ONLY PS file or
PDF file or Text file to giw-sub@ims.u-tokyo.ac.jp
until August 20, 2003 September 1, 2003.
- Final Version
Page limit is 10.
We cordially ask that you use either Full Paper LaTeX2e template or Full Paper
MS Word template, and send BOTH 1 and 2 below to
giw-sub@ims.u-tokyo.ac.jp until October
31, 2003.
- All source file(s) for your final version
- LaTeX2e file(s) that you have written with Full Paper LaTeX2e template
(Do not forget to send a bib file or a bbl file and eps files (for
figures) and any macros that you have created, if any), or
- MS Word file that you have written with Full Paper MS Word template.
- PS file or PDF file

Poster/Software
Demonstration Paper
- Submission
The number of pages is exactly TWO (not less than
and not more than).
We cordially ask that you use either Poster/Demo Paper LaTeX2e template or
Poster/Demo Paper MS Word template, and send BOTH 1 and
2 below to giw-sub@ims.u-tokyo.ac.jp
until October 10, 2003.
- All source file(s) for your paper:
- LaTeX2e file(s) that you have written with Poster/Demo Paper LaTeX2e
template (Do not forget to send a bib file or a bbl file and eps files
(for figures) and any macros that you have created, if any), or
- MS Word file that you have written with Poster/Demo Paper MS Word
template.
- PS file or PDF file
- Revision and Final Version
Submitted poster/demo papers will be reviewed for appropriateness to GIW 2003. Necessary revisions shall be asked
to the author(s) as a condition for acceptance.

Important Notices
- Page limit is 10 for full paper and 2 for poster/demo paper.
In case the number of pages still exceeds this limit after your efforts,
please contact the Editor-in-Chief (Satoru Miyano:
giw2004@ims.u-tokyo.ac.jp) for advice.
- Do not change the text width, text height, baseline, font size, etc.,
specified in LaTeX2e/LaTeX/MS Word templates.
- Reference style and citation should strictly follow the templates.
- Please use spell checker program and grammar checker program for improving your
final version.
- Printed version of "Genome Informatics" is monochromatic and has a page limit.
But, electronic version (PDF, then HTML, XML) does not have such restrictions.
Therefore, we encourage the author(s) to attach any hypermedia files which
can be included in your paper. The electronic version will be open to public
at JSBi Home Page (http://www.jsbi.org/journal.html).
