SCOPE

The Eleventh Workshop on Genome Informatics (GIW2000) focuses on Genome Informatics, including, but not limited to, the following areas: genome database, unified database, knowledge extraction from literature, knowledge discovery and data mining from databases, sequence analysis, comparative genomics, motif extraction and search, multiple alignment, phylogeny tree, linkage analysis program, gene structure and function prediction, protein structure and function prediction, gene expression profile analysis, pathway analysis, proteome analysis, gene network analysis, systems for supporting experimental works (mapping, sequencing, primer design, etc.), simulation of biological system, DNA computing, artificial life, etc.

PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Authors are requested to submit full papers around 10 pages in PS file or PDF file or Plain text to: The following information should be provided:

CALL FOR POSTERS AND SOFTWARE DEMONSTRATIONS

GIW2000 has a session for posters and software demonstrations sponsored by JSBi. For a poster/demo, a two-page abstract in the specified format shown at INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS should be submitted to:
After review, authors will be notified acceptance/rejection by October 30, 2000.

Each accepted poster/demo abstract will be included in ``Genome Informatics 2000'' and will be given one-minute overview oral presentation in addition to normal poster presentation. 


PUBLICATION

Accepted papers and poster/demo articles will be included in ``Genome Informatics 2000'' published from Universal Academy Press, Inc. (http://www.uap.co.jp/uap/New_Publi/SERIES/GIS/GIS.html). Genome Informatics Series is MEDLINE indexed (peer reviewed full papers) and electronic version is available from JSBi ( http://www.jsbi.org/journal.html) (all papers).

STUDENT SUPPORT

Partial support for student papers will be arranged. Further information will be provided soon.
